Program Overview
Set yourself apart and build skills to respond to injustice
Learn to recognize and address environmental injustices through real world examples and from experts in the field. As a student of environmental justice, you will study the geographic and social distribution of environmental benefits and harms, the health consequences of pollution, the impacts on cultures and voices, the role of inclusive and democratic participation, and how to restore social and ecological damages.
The Certificate is administered through the Center for Environmental Justice and housed in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability.
Flexible and Interdisciplinary Curriculum
The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Justice is designed to incorporate diverse perspectives and backgrounds and to prepare students to work on interdisciplinary problems. You can choose which elective courses most closely align with your interests and career goals. The program is best suited for graduate students across the university who are interested in the intersection between justice/equity and energy/environment.
